Bio

Michael Ellingson started his career with Hawkeye Community College in June of 2020 as the Assistant Student Life Coordinator. Ellingson is currently serving as the Coordinator of Recreation and Athletics.

Starting his college education at the University of Northern Iowa in 2016, Ellingson graduated in 2020 with a Bachelor of Arts in Movement and Exercise Science, with a minor in Coaching. Ellingson’s previous work experience includes three years of coaching baseball at Washington High School, as well as personal training at UNI. During his time at Hawkeye, he has instructed group fitness classes, as well as continued to promote and lead personal training sessions for students, faculty, and staff. Ellingson coordinates Hawkeye’s Intramural activities, personal training and group fitness programs, as well as assists in athletic events. 

Ellingson has a wide variety of hobbies including golf, tennis, boating, fishing, snowboarding, gardening, and playing video games. Michael currently resides in Cedar Falls with his significant other Hannah Black.
