Head men's golf coach Micah Destival is in his 6th year of leading the RedTail Men and his 2nd as the Women's.  Coach Destival has been a golf professional for the past 13 years and a PGA Member since 2014.

Golf Swing Philosophy: There is not one way to properly swing a golf club (impact is everything) and having a good setup/grip at address and proper matchups in the swing will help you achieve this whether you swing flat or upright. I am big on biomechics and using the ground to maximize speed and effortless power which we measure through the use of athletic screenings, pressure mats and launch monitors.  It is my goal to help you improve tempo to achieve smooth, efficient power so there is minimal effort for maximum distance (that's where the tour guys hang out).  

How we get golfers better: When it comes down to it, lowering your score is the only thing that matters.  Through my playing experience I've learned how golf course management, expectation management and being aware of your mental state during around are crucial to long term success.  We use statistical analysis to structure individualized programs to target specific areas where improvement is possible.  I'm also a shortgame expert and teaching golfers new techniques (and the why behind it) to allow the ball to come out soft with correct spin is probably my biggest passion in golf.
