RedTails Dance Team Shines at ISDTA Championships

DES MOINES, IA — The RedTails Dance Team delivered stellar performances at the Iowa State Dance Team Association (ISDTA) Championships on December 1 in Des Moines. Competing in three diverse categories, the RedTails demonstrated their prowess in Pom, Hip Hop, and Jazz.

 

In the Pom category, the RedTails secured a commendable 7th place. The team's dedication to excellence was evident, leaving a lasting impression on the competition.

 

The Hip Hop routine brought energy to the stage, earning the RedTails an impressive 8th place. The team's choreography and enthusiasm were standout features that reinforced their standing in this highly competitive division.

 

In the Jazz division, the RedTails Dance Team clinched an impressive 5th place. Their performance showcased a perfect mix of skill, imagination, and emotion, underscoring the team's dedication to pushing the limits of their artistry.

 

Head Coach Abby Kopriva expressed immense pride in the RedTails' achievements, stating, "State Dance was a great experience! The girls had high energy all day watching the other teams and preparing for our dances. We started the day performing our Hip Hop routine which is the team's favorite dance. We then performed our Jazz and lastly performed our Pom. We received all Division 1 ratings which is the highest rating you can receive. This coming week we will listen to the feedback from the judges to prepare for nationals in January."

 

The RedTails Dance team competes next at the UDA College Nationals in Orlando, Florida on January 12-14th.
