Athlete of the Week: Wyatt Ellingson

WATERLOO-RedTail Esports player Wyatt Ellingson has been named this week's RedTail Athlete of the Week.

Ellingson has been a great leader and solid player for the RedTail Esports team throughout the year. In the RedTails' most recent series against Aquinas College, Ellingson posted an impressive 3.33 KDA while playing at Varus and Ezreal in League of Legends. Ellingson showed his reliability through the competition, as he was playing in a different position filling in for another starter who was unable to play this week.

"Wyatt is a great representation of what it means to be a RedTails Esports student-athlete," said coach Billy Howard. "He's very flexible in terms of being able to do whatever we need him to do in the team environment. He's a true team player and we are relying on his veteran leadership as we close out the year."

Ellingson is originally from Ackley, Iowa, and is currently pursuing a Digital Mass Media degree at Hawkeye.
