Goeke Selected to Lead RedTail Esports

Ryan Goeke has been selected as the next Head Esports Coach for Hawkeye Community College heading into the 2021-2022 season. Goeke, now in his second year with the program, helped the RedTails capture the NJCAAE National Championship in Rainbow Six Siege during the 2020-2021 season. His leadership and knowledge has also played a large part in the success of the Rocket League, League of Legends, and Overwatch teams as well.

"I am excited that Coach Goeke will serve as the next Head Esports Coach for the program," said Ethan Crawford, Director of Athletics and Recreation. "In the short time that I have had the pleasure of working with Ryan, he has displayed the values that are crucial to building and sustaining a successful program. He has already had success in helping the program secure it's first National Championship, and he has displayed the skills necessary to build on that foundation. His vision for the program in the future aligns well with the values and strategic plan for the Athletics and Recreation Department overall."

Before working at Hawkeye, Goeke organized and participated in an amateur league for League of Legends while attending the University of Northern Iowa. He has competed in Rocket League where he reached Diamond Level 3, Overwatch, and League of Legends where he reached Platinum Level 4.

Goeke currently resides in Cedar Falls, IA, with his girlfriend Carolon.
