Male Athlete of the Week-James Carrick

RedTail Esports student-athlete James Carrick has been named Scheels Male Athlete of the Week for his performances in the invitational qualifier matches for both League of Legends and Valorant.

James has had a great showing for both League of Legends and Valorant in the invitational qualifier matches while being the in-game leader for both. Across two best-of-one matches his League of Legends scoreline was: 11-4-10, and in the single best-of-one match, his Valorant scoreline was: 22-17.

"James has been able to quickly adapt to playing with new players and identify how to best communicate with them, all while being a top performer on our teams," said head coach Ryan Goeke. "He's always willing to learn new things and sacrifice for the team if he needs to in order to win."

Carrick is originally from Cedar Rapids, IA.
