Men’s Bowling Places Eleventh at the Cedar Valley Invite

The RedTails hosted the Cedar Valley Invite at Cadillac XBC on February 17-18, 2024, where they ranked 11th overall with a final score of 7,149. 

The home tournament was a match point system, which head coach Roger Taylor said was competitive and exciting. A match point system is when each bowler on one team goes against another bowler on a different team. "With the format of the tournament, the Redtails couldn't get very many breaks and found themselves in 11th on the men's side," said Taylor. 

A few of the matches were close in score, as only a few spares made a difference. Taylor said that the RedTails kept things in play and close to the competition. 

Shaun Lonergan was the high finisher for the men's team averaging 192.2 for his five games. He came in 18th place overall for the tournament. 

The men's team standing that goes toward the national rankings is currently in eighth place. The higher the finishers will help the team move up the national rankings. 

Next up for the RedTails will be the NJCAA Nationals tournament in Lansing, Michigan, February 29-March 2, 2024.
