RedTails Place Third in Weather-Shortened Tournament

WAVERLY–The RedTails took home a third place team finish and had a top five individual finish at the shortened Wartburg Invite on Saturday, September 28.

Inclimate weather stopped the first round after just nine holes, causing the whole tournament to be scored out of 27 holes instead of the full 36. Still, the Redtail golfers made the most out of the holes they played; particularly Austin Reynolds, who would finish fifth individually. Reynolds led the RedTails with a 3 over 39 first round and a 9 over second round 81 leaving him at 12 over for the tournament.

Colin Kitson was just two strokes behind Reynolds, finishing at 14 over for the tournament. Kitson had fantastic second round, shooting just 3 over (75) on his final 18 holes. Derrick Schorg and Ethan Fox both shot 18 over for the tournament and the RedTail top five was rounded out by Brayden Fahrni who finished at 21 over for the tournament.

"We keep doing some nice things on the golf course for most of the round and keep extending that longer and longer into the round as our guys get more experience," said head coach Micah Destival. "We are looking forward to the National Preview next week."
