RedTail Golf Finishes Fall Season

JOPLIN, MO-- The Hawkeye Community College golf team competed in the NJCAA National Preview in Joplin, MO on October 7 and 8. All six of the RedTail athletes placed in the top-50 of the tournament.

Freshman Austin Reynolds led the way for the team by setting a 54 hole school record at 236 strokes. Reynolds finished tied for 19th place.

Fellow freshmen Colin Kitson and Ethan Fox completed the top three scorers for the Red Tails, shooting 256 and 263 respectively.

"Everyone had good stretches of holes which should build some confidence that they are capable of playing well," commented head coach Micah Destival after the tournament's end, "we need to work on extending those good stretches of holes more and more as we move forward in the spring."

The Preview rounds out the fall season for the RedTails. They will continue again in the spring.
