RedTail Men’s Golf Takes Third

RedTail Men’s Golf Takes Third

RedTail golf hosted its annual Hawkeye Shootout on Friday, October 6, at Fox Ridge Golf Course in Dike.

The men ended up in third place with an overall team score of 306. Kaeden Anderson led the RedTails, shooting 72 and tying for fourth place individually. Oskar Kahr was just two strokes behind Anderson with a score of 74 and tying for fifth. Mauricio Jimenez shot 78 and tied for 13th. Will Steege followed Jimenez with a score of 82 and tied for 34th place. Tristin Sorgenfrey shot 85 and tied for 54th place individually.

Bruno Marti Jimenez shot 76 and tied for ninth individually and Emil Christensen followed, shooting a total score of 81, tying for 29th. Nash Arbuckle was just five strokes behind Christensen and shot 86, tying for 59th. Drew Jones shot a score of 96, Bodie Goddard finished with 96, and Ethan Yu shot 101.

Head coach Micah Destival had some positive words after the invite.

"The guys played some pretty good golf in winter-like conditions today," he said. "The wind was gusting over 30 and not a lot to block it at Fox Ridge.  All the guys had nice stretches of play in the wind and we definitely got better as a team playing in the elements. There's one more tournament in a week to finish out an outstanding fall."

The RedTails final invite will be the SW Invite at Lake Panorama National golf course, in Lake Panorama on Monday and Tuesday, October 16-17, starting at 10:00am.
