Men’s Soccer Team Battles Hard Against Iowa Lakes Community College

WATERLOO–The Men's Soccer team lost a hard fought battle Tuesday against Iowa Lakes Community College by a score of 3-1.

The RedTails came out very energetic and eager to play, putting up four shots in the first half. One of those shots was a goal by Josh Robinson (36:20) that went unassisted. The first half was physical, and both sides were aggressive on the defensive end - tallying up a total of 23 fouls, six yellow cards, and one red card against the RedTails.

The second half was a repeat of the first, as the RedTails put up two shots but unfortunately could not find a way to score again. Goalie Brendan Dally was busy in the nets, with an impressive seven saves throughout the night.

Head coach Robbie Carroll spoke about his team after the game, stating, "We started well but we were unlucky to have a goal disallowed in the first five minutes. We are a young squad and when playing against a nationally ranked side we made young mistakes that we just can't make."

Carroll was still optimistic about the teams chances moving forward, however.

"I am happy with the performance and effort we made," he said. "We will shock some of our competitors and build on our experiences."

The RedTails will be in action again this Saturday, September 28, as they face Northeast Community College in what should be an exciting conference matchup.
