RedTails Men’s Soccer Takes Loss Against Marshalltown

The RedTails played a tough game against the Tigers losing 2-1 on Saturday, September 16, at the Cedar Valley Soccer Complex.

The Marshalltown Tigers made two scores in the first period, as the RedTails put up a strong fight. In the second quarter, Yusuf Alade #7 scored, assisted by Shimon Lofemba #34. The game was very intense and consisted of a lot of yellow cards for both RedTails and Tigers.

Head coach Chris Rennie had some uplifting words to say after Saturday's game.

"It was a disappointing start to the conference today," he said. "Today was definitely not our best performance, losing games is something that you have to deal with over the course of the season but for me we went away from our values and that is something we need to address. I'm excited to see the response from the players with two very tough matches coming up, I expect to see desire and passion from each of the players this week and for them to use this set back as fuel to drive them."

The RedTails next match up will be on Wednesday, September 20, at Iowa Lakes Community College and starting at 3:30pm.
