
RedTail Men’s Track & Field Team Competes at Their First Outdoor Meet of the 2025 Season
The RedTail track and field teams returned to the track to kick off the outdoor season on Friday, March 28, where they competed at the Central Invitational.
Personal bests were made in several field events for the RedTail men, starting with the javelin throw. With a sixth place finish, Tyler Bartels threw his new PR of 44.41m, and in 20th was Jaxon Weber, who threw his PR of 34.13m.
In the pole vault, Ryan Leonard achieved a PR of 3.25m, landing him a fifth place finish, and behind him in sixth place was Travis Brace with 2.95m.
Aldaine Angus had the best finish for the RedTails in the long jump, scoring 7.07m and a second place finish. Behind him in 12th place was Jaxon Weber (5.63m) and in 13th place was Edde Gonzalez (5.52m).
Two men competed in the 100m race and finishing in eighth place was Aldaine Angus in 10.58, and not far behind was Liam Carlson in tenth place in a time of 10.65,
In the men's 200m race, Vance Burnham finished in sixth place, crossing the finish line in 21.57. Liam Carlson finished in 19th place in 22.49 and Tynan Van der Veer 52nd with a finishing time of 24.57.
Brennen Sager crossed the finish line in 15th place (57.15) in the 400m race. Following him were Anthoneih Kopsa in 22nd (1:02.95) and Samuel Brace in 23rd (1:04.71).
Tynan Van der Veer was the only RedTail to compete in the men's 800m race and he finished in 41st place in a time of 2:17.51.
Brennen Sager and Samuel Brace competed in the 3000m race for the RedTails. Sager finished in 19th place (10:59.29), while Brace finished in 21st place (12:31.71).
Two groups competed in the 4x100 relay race for the RedTails. Bringing home first place in a time of 41.87 were Aldaine Angus, Xavier Codling, Vance Burnham, and Liam Carlson. Finishing in sixth place in a time of 46.31 were Ryan Leonard, Tate Murray, Tyler Bartels, and Jaxon Weber.
The final event for the RedTails were the 110m hurdles. Finishing in 11th place was Tyler Bartels (16.36) and right behind him in 12th place was Travis Brace (16.41). Edde Gonzalez finished in 18th place, crossing the finish line in 20.29, and in 19th place was Ryan Leonard with a time of 22.45.
After the conclusion of the meet, Coach Scott Roberts said, "I was pleased with the men and the women his week. We had some good first meet performances. Our men's 4x100m relay was victorious over good competition from Central, Simpson, and other schools. Vance Burnham had a big personal best in the 200m. I was real pleased with the performances for the first meet of the year. Looking forward to improving on those marks this week."
