Bio

Horton is originally from Savannah, Georgia, and attended college in Kentucky at the University of the Cumberlands where he received his bachelor's in criminal justice with a minor in coaching. As a part of the Cumberlands track and field team, Horton earned outdoor Mid-South All-Conference honors twice. He also finished top 8 in the indoor mid-south conference championships. During his athletic career, Horton was named the University of the Cumberlands' most improved thrower of the year.

"I am blessed and honored that Hawkeye chose me to be able to come in and help coach the team and also be a part of the family here at Hawkeye," said coach Horton. "I plan to bring my burning passion for competing and being the best student-athlete on and off the track and install it into the team. I look forward to building relationships with the team, staff, and community here in Waterloo."
