Men’s Cross Country Flourishes at Trent Smith Invitation

The Hawkeye Community College men's cross country team had a terrific outing at the Trent Smith Invitation in Mason City on Friday, October 12.

The RedTails took first place with seven runners in the top 20, including three in the top five. Peter Torkleson led the way with a time of 26:51 for second place overall while David Thompson was third in 26:57 and Payton Bahl placed fifthin 27:10..

The RedTails weren't done there, though. Landon Boomsma placed seventh with a time of 27:21, while Konnor Roth, Jonny Smith, and Ryan Miller took 11th, 12th, and 13th – all within seven seconds of one another.

Up Next: The RedTails travel to Davenport to compete in the District XI Championships on Friday, October 26.
