RedTail Cross Country Competes In Viking Invitational

The RedTails traveled to Des Moines on Saturday, September 23, to compete in the Viking Invitational. 

Both men and women ran in the invitational and had great times. Jess Cornick competed in the 8k and placed 24th, with 29:36 as his time. Kory Sweeney also competed in the 8k, placing 45th and running with a time of 33:01. Braden Nystrom finished with 54th place in the 8k, with a time of 34:07.

Two RedTail women competed in the 5k run. Maddie Tieskotter finished in 34th place with a time of 22:56. Anna Dietzenbach finished in 40th running a time of 23:24. The team as a whole, did well overall.

Head coach Scott Roberts had some positive words after Saturday's meet.

"The men ran really well and all three of them ran faster than their goal times," he said. "We were quite pleased. Our women ran right near their personal bests, we expect them to make a breakthrough within the coming weeks." 

The RedTails next meet is the Dan Huston Invite on Saturday, September 30, at Wartburg College.
