RedTail Cross Country Competes in Indian Hills Invite

The RedTails traveled to Ottumwa on Friday, October 13, to compete against nine teams in the Indian Hills Invite. 

The RedTail Men's team placed eighth overall with 208 points and an average time of 30:20. Jess Cornick led the RedTails with a time of  27:56 and placed 24th individually. Brennan Sager followed Cornick and finished with a time of 29:19 and placed 39th. Kory Sweeney ran a time of 30:19, Braden Nystrom had a time of 30:44, and Brock Meyer finished with a time of 33:20. 

The RedTail Women's team also had a good day. Amber Homan finished in 10th place overall with 20:05 as her time. Anna Dietzenbach finished in 24th place, with a time of 21:32. Maddie Tieskotter had a time of 22:14 and finished in 30th place. 

Head coach Scott Roberts had some positive words after the invite.

"We were very pleased with the results from Friday," he said. "We took a number of middle distance runners and every single runner ran personal bests. We are very excited as we had a full men's team for the first time and Amber Homan ran her first collegiate race and finished 10th."

The RedTails next invite is the Region 11 Championship on Friday, October 27, starting at 4:00pm.
