The RedTails earned East Division Skeet Championship in their competition against Indian Hills and Southeastern.

The RedTails earned East Division Skeet Championship in their competition against Indian Hills and Southeastern.

Hawkeye RedTails Sports Shooting team won both their Skeet and Sporting Clays competitions against Southeastern and Indian Hills on Friday, September 20.

In their Skeet competition, The RedTails scored 291 targets out of 300 beating both Southeastern's score (245) and Indian Hill's score (288). Chase Bindl (98), Colton Crooks(97), and Mason Goche(96) scores were counted for the team competition. For the Men's individual competition Chase Bindl took second place after losing in a shoot off and Colton Crooks took third place. For the Woman's individual competition Abbie Hill took first place (93), Brenna Leitner took second place (88) after competing in shootoff against Lydia Covert who took third place (88).

In their Sporting Clays competition the RedTails scored 270 targets out of 300 once again beating both Southeastern (232) and Indian Hill's (265). Chase Bindl (93), Colton Crooks(89), and Mason Goche(88) were again the top three team scorers. For the Men's individual competition Chase Bindl took first place and Colton Crooks took third place. For the Woman's individual competition Brenna Leitner and Abbie Hill both scored 78 targets and competed in a shootoff with Brenna taking first place and Abbie taking second place, while Lydia Covert took third place (77).

Coach Emley said of the team, "We have experience and depth this season; this is a great team of skeet shooters to watch!" "We devote practice time to skeet shoot-offs, evidently we need to devote more time. We were very competitive today, we were excited to earn back our East Division Skeet Championship!"

 

The RedTails will be competing again on Saturday, September 28.
