Female Athlete of the Week-Lizzy Hamand

RedTail Softball student-athlete Lizzy Hamand has been named Scheels Female Athlete of the Week for her performance against Iowa Lakes Community College on April 8th.

Lizzy was 3-4 in game one against Iowa Lakes on Monday, April 8th with 3 home runs, 12 RBIs, and 3 runs scored in the 18-5 win. She was 2-3 in game two against Iowa Lakes with 1 RBI, a double and a walk. Overall, Lizzy had a .428 hitting average on the week with a 1.258 slugging percentage, 5 home runs on the week, 2 doubles, 18 runs batted in, 2 walks, and 5 runs scored.

"Lizzy had a monster week at the plate," said head coach Courtney Calkins. "She helped us get our first conference win with three home runs on the day. She also continues to get better and better each week, and I know she will continue on that trend upwards."

Hamand is originally from Nora Springs, IA.
