Women’s Bowling Places in Sixth Place at the Cedar Valley Invite

The RedTails hosted the Cedar Valley Invite at Cadillac XBC on February 17-18, 2024, where they ranked sixth overall with a final score of 6,608. 

The tournament was a match point system format, meaning that one person from a team was paired against another bowler on a different team. Head coach Roger Taylor said it made the tournament more competitive and very exciting. "With the format of the tournament, the Redtails couldn't get very many breaks and found themselves in fourth place on the women's side," said Taylor. 

Even though the team didn't get very many breaks, they kept their spirits high by cheering each other on during the tournament. 

Lauren Funk finished in 14th place, and she was averaging 172 for her five games. Her total score for the tournament was 860. 

The women's team standing that goes toward the national rankings is currently in fourth place. The higher the finishers will help the team move up the national rankings. 

The Redtails will be in the NJCAA Nationals Tournament in Lansing, Michigan, on February 29-March 2, 2024.
