RedTail Women’s Golf Team Places 12th in the Plains District Tournament

DODGE CITY, KANSAS–The RedTail Women's Golf Team received 12th out of the 14 teams that competed in the Plains District Tournament April 29-April 30, 2024.

Head coach Micah Destival explained that it was a tough tournament to end their season.

"Always tough to end the season not playing quite as well as we'd like to, but it was fun to play a new golf course and get to play in some decent weather," said Destival.

For individual scores, Chase Doland received 23rd place with rounds of 84 and 89. Her total score was 173. Libby Larkin tied for 31st place (scoring 183), and she golfed a 90 and a 93. Olivia Hammel came in 40th place with rounds of 100 and 95 (totaling 195). And Lauren Funk tied for 47th place (scoring 211). Her two rounds were 105 and 106.

"All of the women had nice stretches of holes where they played well," Destival said. "This was our first class of women's golfers graduating, so it is sad to see it end, but wish them all the best in future endeavors."

The women had a great season, and we wish them all the best of luck in the future. As always, Go RedTails!
