RedTails Battled It Out In The Hive Finishing Second at St. Ambrose
The Redtail Women's Track and Field team grabbed several event titles and marked a flurry of PR's while competing at St. Ambrose University last Saturday (February 6).
The distance medley relay team (Ryann Portch, Maddy Lenaerts, Sophie Spargur, and Kaylee Leicht) qualified for the distance medley relay. They are currently leading the NJCAA with the number one time in the country at 12:59.22. Portch also qualified in the 600 meter dash where she currently sits number 3 in her event while also sitting number three in the 800 meter dash as well.
Across the board everyone showed up and put their best effort in. Coach Tyler Mudler was extremely impressed with the team's performance saying, "We saw massive improvements and the team really cheered each other on which you love to see as a coach!"
This weekend's meet was just a sneak peek into their remaining season. "We're at a point in the season where we are getting prepped for our regional championship while focused on getting events qualified for nationals so it's fun to see that happen each meet," said Coach Mulder.
