Women’s Track Posts Multiple Personal Bests Against Tough Drake Relays Competition
DES MOINES-The RedTail Women's Track and Field team put together multiple personal best performances at the Drake Relays on April 23-24.
The RedTail came into the weekend with a focus on their individual efforts and to improve their individual marks. Ryann Portch led this effort for the RedTails, as she won her heat of the 1500-meter run with a personal best time of 4:52.15.
Carlie Hoppe and Kylee Neighbors both pieced together strong efforts in the 100-meter hurdles despite the headwind, with Hoppe running a 18.32 which marks her personal best.
"The women got to see themselves against some stronger competition which will really help push them and prepare them for nationals," said head coach Tyler Mulder.
The RedTails will look to continue to prepare for the national competition when they head to Council Bluffs, Iowa to compete at the NJCAA Region IX meet on Sunday, April 25.
