IOWA FALLS–The Hawkeye RedTail Volleyball team opened conference play on the road Wednesday with a decisive 3-0 win against Ellsworth Community College.
The RedTails controlled the net quickly and consistently, racking up 47 kills, compared to just 29 from the Panthers. Megan Hudson and Jessica Hopkins led an aggressive RedTail offense, each adding 14 kills. A confident defense netted 60 digs, led by Haylee Keuene (17) and Leah Carter (15).
The win bumps the RedTails to a 5-1 record on the season.
UP NEXT: Tomorrow (August 31) they travel to Southeastern Community College in Burlington for the two-day Jimmy John's Invite. On Friday they face Macomb Community College, followed by a rematch against John Wood Community College. Saturday includes contests against Carl Sandburg College and East Central College.
