Hudson Powers RedTail Volleyball to 10th Straight Victory

Waterloo–The Hawkeye Community College RedTails volleyball program continued rolling as it claimed its 10th straight match with a sweep of undefeated Marshalltown Community College on Friday night, 25-17, 25-17, 25-22.

The Division II RedTails, who improved to 11-1 overall and 2-0 in the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference, whipped Division I Marshalltown, which entered the contest unbeaten in eight matches this year.

Hawkeye featured 22 kills and a .340 hitting percentage from Megan Hudson, who was named the ICCAC's Player of the Week just a few days earlier. Hudson continued to enjoy a spectacular season, as her 22 kills were the second most she's had in a match this season. In addition, her 194 total kills rank first in all of NJCAA Division II play.

The RedTails' defense was anchored by Haylee Keune, who accounted for 20 digs, while Leah Carter, Hudson and Lexi Wroe collected 14, 12 and 11 digs, respectively.

Up Next: The RedTails travel to Fort Dodge to take on conference opponent Iowa Central Community College on Wednesday, September 12.
