No. 11 RedTail Volleyball Falls to No. 20 Northeast

The 11th-ranked Hawkeye Community College volleyball suffered a difficult loss against conference opponent and No. 20 Northeast Community College on Wednesday, 25-13, 25-13 and 26-24.

The RedTails had trouble getting the ball rolling in their first two sets. Northeast (16-13 overall, 7-1 conference) hit .326 and .355, as opposed to .047 and .233 for the Hawkeye. In the last set, the RedTails limited Northeast to .156 but it wasn't enough to extend the match.

It was just the third sweep of the RedTails this season, and the previous two came at the hands of the schools ranked No. 1 and No. 2 in NJCAA Division II. Hawkeye slipped 16-6 overall and 6-2 in the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference, where they're tied for third place with DMACC.

Outside hitter Megan Hudson led Hawkeye with 14 kills, while Kaylee Keune, Lexi Wroe and Maggie Driscol collected 19, 17 and 16 digs, respectively.
