The RedTails traveled to Normal, Illinois, on Saturday, October 14, to go up against Heartland Community College.
This was a tough match against a strong team on their home turf, but the RedTails put up a good fight. The first match was an instant Hawks win (25-15). The Hawks continued to have strong offense and defense in the second set, not letting the RedTails make many strong offensive moves and taking the win (25-12). The third and final set ended in the Hawks winning 25-15 and taking the overall win (3-0).
Assistant coach Emily Clapp had some positive words after the tough match.
"We played really great as a team," she said. "We have some things we need to work on for our last few conference games. I loved seeing the girls come together as a whole!"
The RedTails next match is on Wednesday, October 18, against Marshalltown, starting at 6:00pm.
