Women's Cross Country Takes 2nd at Fighting Bee Invitational

BETTENDORF - The Hawkeye Community College women's cross country team earned a 2nd place finish in the Junior College flight over the weekend as they competed at Crow Creek Park in the Fighting Bee Invitational (5k).

Pacing the RedTails in their runner-up team finish would be the freshman duo of Joanna Topham and Shea Dahlstrom. Topham earned a 16th place finish as she would finish with a final time of 20:50.4. Dahlstrom crossed the finish line with a time of 21:41.0 to finish 29th. The sophomore trio of Atlanta Groeneveld (21:57.6), Mikki Mundus (22:39.0), and Autumn Weekly (24:17.8) also had a strong showing, as they would round out the team scoring for the RedTails. Divine Washington (27:59.6) and Hannah Johnson (30:15.7) also ran very well against the 17-team field.

The RedTails will travel to Mason City next for the NIACC Trent Smith Invitational (8k) on October 13. Meet time is set for 10:00 AM.
