RedTail Women Take On 4k For The First Time
CEDAR RAPIDS–The RedTail Women's Cross Country team ran their first competitive 4K on August 30, placing sixth in the 26th annual Mustang Gallop hosted by Mount Mercy University.
The Redtail top five were an all-freshman group led by Lacey Jackson, who placed 26th (16:53.0) and is now the school record holder of the new event. Miranda Oldenburger crossed the line next with a time of 18:52.5. Maddie Erhardt (19:42.3), Adeline McDermott (20:15.6) and Bianca Malone (22:35.5) rounded out the top five for the RedTails.
"Everyone improved from last week so I'm excited where the women's team is headed and we will get a few more key additions heading into Iowa," said head coach Tyler Mulder.
