All Freshman Team Takes on Nationals

Albuquerque, NM-The RedTail Women's Cross Country team competed in and placed 36th overall (with a team score of 955) at the 2019 NJCAA Division 1 Cross Country National Championships which took place from the 9-10 of November.

All year the RedTail women have been competing with an all freshman lineup. This was no different in the national meet, where they ran in a field of over 330 runners. The RedTails were lead again by Lacey Jackson, running a 22:12.14 placing her 145th individually. Rachel Wardell was the next RedTail across the line with a time of 23:35.86 giving her a 191th-place finish. Not long after Wardell, Miranda Oldenburger crossed the finish line placing her 195th overall with a time of 23:50.58. Kaylee Hosch (24:22.17) and Maddie Erhardt (24:47.07) rounded out the RedTail top 5.

"The women's team had a valuable experience being a team made up entirely of freshmen," said head coach Tyler Mulder. "Being at altitude was definitely a factor but overall I was happy for the girls as their spread was good. We'll lean heavily on this experience as one to grow from, for next year!"
