Female Athlete of the Week-Amber Homan

RedTail Cross Country student-athlete Amber Homan has been named Scheels Female Athlete of the Week for her performance at the Indian Hills Invite Community College on October 13th.

Amber debuted her colligate cross country career this weekend at the Indian Hills Invitational. She had an exceptional run and led the team in time and placing. Amber's run of 20:05.7 landed her number 7 on Hawkeye's Top Ten All-Time list for the 5k! Amber took 10th overall in the meet.

"Amber had an incredible meet this weekend," said assistant coach Hunter Lavallee. "She and her teammates Maddie Tieskotter and Anna Dietzenbach all performed to a new standard for the year. In Amber's case, she's taken an alternative route for training compared to the rest, primarily training alone. Seeing her out in the field racing was something special! You could physically see the spark and fire for competition was reignited and roaring strong! Amber and the crew will look to continue progressing towards our Region XI Championship and National Meet in the coming weeks!"

Homan is originally from Waterloo.
