Bio

A former collegiate athlete and rising coaching talent, Gordon brings a dynamic blend of energy, leadership, and competitive experience to Hawkeye Athletics.

Gordon most recently served as the Assistant Track & Field Coach at Cowley Community College, where he played a key role in the development of 38 NJCAA national qualifiers, 12 NJCAA All-Americans, and a national champion. His leadership helped Cowley secure three Jayhawk Women's Conference Championships, and his responsibilities extended beyond coaching, including strength and conditioning programming, recruiting, event operations, and student support.

A two-time NJCAA All-American and four-time NJCAA National Qualifier himself, Gordon competed at both Cowley Community College and Wichita State University, where he earned a bachelor's degree in Sport Management with a minor in Workforce Leadership. He also gained valuable coaching experience as an intern with Wichita State's Track & Field program, specializing in throws and strength training.

Gordon's commitment to student success extends beyond athletics. His work as a Career Specialist for Jobs for America's Graduates (JAG-K) demonstrates his passion for mentoring and guiding young people as they prepare for life after graduation.

With his proven track record in athlete development and his drive to build a strong and supportive team culture, Coach Gordon is poised to elevate the RedTail Track & Field and Cross Country programs to new heights.
