Men’s Bowling Has A Tough Weekend at 5 Seasons Classic

CEDAR RAPIDS–The RedTail's men's bowling team struggled at Mount Mercy's 5 Seasons Classic October 30-31.
The varsity team finished last out of 17 teams with a total score of 6449. Alex Sturbaum finished the highest for the RedTails with an average of 160. Christ Little was the second highest for the RedTails with an average of 155. The JV team finished last out of 10 teams with a total of 5767 points. Christian Merrick led the JV team with an average of 151. Christian Merrick was the next highest finisher with an average of 146.
"The field at the tournament hosted powerhouse teams such as St. Ambrose, Lindenwood and our host Mt. Mercy, as well as presenting very challenging lane conditions," says coach Roger Taylor. "The RedTail Men did struggle a fair amount this weekend. On Saturday, both men's teams had a little trouble focusing but were able to change the pace on Sunday as they gelled much better together as a team, changing their focus and managing a few more spares and better shots overall."
Next up the RedTails head to Fairview Heights, Illinois, for the Mckendree Invite November 27-28.
