RedTail Men’s Bowling Hosts Cedar Valley Invite

WATERLOO –The RedTail bowling teams hosted the Cedar Valley Invite February 8-9, where they had the opportunity to perform in front of a home crowd.

The women kicked off the weekend on Saturday, and following them on Sunday were the men. Overall, the men finished in 12th place for the event but received seventh place points for their national rankings.

The men started their weekend off strong as they took victory over their competitors in the first two matches against Iowa Western and the University of Minnesota Duluth. Chris Fordyce, a freshman, has been Mr. Consistency over the course of the season and he ended up in 27th place, the top spot for the RedTail men, and an average score of 202. Right behind him in 29th place was Tyson Bramble, averaging 201.

"As we enter the postseason, this weekend will provide confidence and momentum for the teams," Coach Taylor said.

The RedTails have a quiet couple of weeks ahead before they fly to Buffalo, New York, at the end of the month to compete in the NJCAA Nationals. Competition will begin on Thursday, February 27, and wrap up on Saturday, March 1.
