RedTails Finish 2nd in the Wartburg Invite
WAVERLY–The RedTail Men's Golf team took second with a score of 601 for the two-day Wartburg Invite on September 24-25.
The RedTails scored 310 on day one and 291 on day 2. Tom Bell was the highest finisher for the RedTails tying for third with a score 145, shooting 74 on day one and 71 on day two. Luke Galeazzi tied for sixth overall with a total score of 147, shooting 76 on day one and 71 on day two. Finishing 10th with a score of 152 was Grant Dekruyf scoring 78 on day one and 74 on day two. With a score of 157, Austin Reynolds tied for 18th shooting 82 on day one and 75 on day two. Sacha Brown tied for 34th with a score 167, shooting 84 on day one and 83 on day two.
The RedTails B Team broke the B team school record for a single round in Round 2. Melker Andersson and Aden Zwanziger each shot a 73. Max Naumann shot a 77. Brayden Fahrni shot a 78.
"It was a fun couple days on the golf course with the guys," says coach Micah Destival. "We had a runner-up finish and played pretty well the 2nd day in Waverly. We are very excited about our 2nd team playing so well and breaking the B team school records and setting so many personal bests."
Next up for the RedTails is the Hawkeye Classic on October 1.
