RedTails Break Records in Battle of Waterloo Invite

The RedTail Men's Golf team placed first out of three teams at Irv Warren Golf Course in a two-day invite, held on September 15-16.

It was an exciting weekend for RedTail golf. The team shot a three round total of 875, beating the school record by 21 shots. Tristan Sorgenfrey shot 70 in round one, breaking his personal best. Mauricio Jimenez shot a 75 and Oscar Kahr shot a 74 in their first round, also shooting their new personal bests. In round two Will Steege shot his new personal best, 72, and Bodie Goddard shot 75 in round three to break his personal best also.

Head coach Micah Destival had some positive words after this record-breaking weekend.

"We took advantage of some great weather to play what was possibly the best tournament in our program's history with so many good scores up and down the lineup," he said. "The varsity knocked 21 strokes off the 54-hole school record and several personal bests were broken over the three rounds." "We head to Burlington for Southeastern's Fall Invite on Tuesday and will hope to continue our solid play."

The RedTails next invite will be on Tuesday, September 19, for the SCC Invite at the Burlington Country Club, starting at 10:00am.
