RedTail Men’s Golf Begins Fall Season at the ‘Highland 36’

The Hawkeye men's golf team began their fall season on Friday at the Highland 36 tournament in Freeport, Illinois. Playing at Park Hills (West Course), the track would challenge any golfer with its tight, narrow fairways and small greens. Reminiscent of a tighter South Hills G.C., the RedTails felt right at home with the hilly terrain and firmer greens of Park Hills.

The boys were led by sophomore Kaeden Anderson as he fired a 142 (-2) for 36 holes of golf, which placed him in second of the tournament.

With a young, yet very talented roster with some key sophomores returning the RedTails look to have a successful fall season to build momentum heading into the spring.

Head coach Micah Destival shared his thoughts about the first 36 holes of season.

"Great start to the year in Freeport, Illinois and getting to try out a new golf course is always fun. Solid play for most of the day and…looking forward to getting back at it on Monday at Oakwood Country Club in the Quad Cities."
