RedTails Place 8th out of 13 Teams at Regional Preview in Sioux City

The RedTails traveled to Sioux City to compete in the Regional Preview tournament. Twelve teams, including five ICCAC conference foes, lined the field for the tourney, which was played at Whispering Creek G.C. The men would place eighth in the tourney with a two-day total score of 613 (+37). Sophomore Kaeden Anderson led the way for Hawkeye, firing a two-day total of 150 (+6) for the tourney. Sophomores Mauricio Jimenez and Will Steege followed close behind, with Jimenez totaling 152 (+8) and Steege shooting 153 (+9) for their tourney finishes. Coach Destival shared his thoughts on the team's finish in the big tourney.

"Not the outcome we were looking for, particularly given the weather conditions being optimal for scoring, but all are things that can be corrected going forward.  Lately, penalty strokes have become an issue, and we need to get past the one bad hole if we are to get where this team is capable of scoring-wise.  Fun tournament, though, on a good golf course, so I'm looking forward to being back in the spring for our district tournament."
