RedTails Lose Home Winning Streak in Battle Against NIACC

Waterloo–The RedTail Men's Soccer Team took on the NIACC Trojans on Saturday, April 17. After an intense first and second half the game went into overtime, where the RedTails fell short of a win by one point.

In the first half of the game the RedTails came out powerful, scoring their first point within the first 10 minutes of the game. Forward Ade Sotoyinbo scored the first goal with an assist from Donald Holliday. The second goal was scored again by Ade Sotoyinbo with just seven minutes remaining in the game. Sotoyinbo had an assist with the second goal by Will Ansah.

It was in the second half of the game that the RedTails were unable to keep up their momentum when the Trojans gained speed and scored two points. This led to a tied up game by the end of the second half making the game drive into overtime.

NIACC was able to pull ahead in overtime and win the game 3-2. This was a hard defeat for the RedTails, however they put up a good fight.

The RedTails will be back in action, Wednesday, April 21, in West Burlington against the Blackhawks.
