RedTail Men's Soccer faced off against a tough Indian Hills squad on September 3, falling 4-1 in the second game of the season.
The game started out as a defensive battle, with the Warriors claiming the first period's only goal at 24:04. The Warriors would open up their lead in the second half with back-to-back quick goals at 51:26 and 52:34. The RedTails would get on the board with a goal from Dilesh Patel at the 64:48 mark. Still, the Warriors would add another goal late to win the game 4-1.
Men's head coach Anthony Velez had some positive words after the RedTails first game of the season.
"At the minute we are playing well," he said. "Out the back and through the middle we haven't been clinical enough in front of goal. We got some opportunities against Indian Hills but we couldn't find the back of the net. We are still trying to figure out a few things and I think Tuesday's matchup vs Marshalltown is where we see us on the score sheet, and I can see us getting a good result."
The RedTails next matchup will be on the road on Tuesday, September 6, at 1:00 pm and 3:30 pm. Marshalltown Community College.
