RedTail Men's Soccer Team Loses to Marshalltown

The Hawkeye RedTail Men's Soccer team lost 0-2 against Marshalltown Community College on August 31.

The RedTails had a slow start to the game. The teams were constantly going back and forth across the field neither able to make a strong enough push for a goal until Marshalltown scored their first goal in the last 10 minutes of the half. The RedTails looked like they found the intensity needed to score in the second half, almost constantly staying on the offensive but despite taking over 10 shots at the goal they were never able to score. Marshalltown was again able to run the ball back and score their second goal late in the second half of the game.

Here are some of head coach Christopher Remmie's thoughts on the game.

"We saw a lot of growth in the men's performance regarding the areas that we have been focusing on. Our overall press and our ability of building out in possession took good strides to where we want to be. However we missed a cutting edge in the final third and switched off completely for both goals, areas that must improve should we want to progress this season."

The men will be playing on September 4 against Dakota County Technical College at

Rosemount, Minnesota.
