Mount Mercy Mustang Open Men's Results

WATERLOO–The RedTail Men's Track and Field team competed at the Mount Mercy Mustang Open on April 1 in Cedar Rapids, IA.
The 100 Meters finished with Brigham Daniel scoring third in both the finals and prelims (11.04 and 10.94). Following him was Carter Even in 15th (11.58) and Jeron Shaw in 17th (11.59).
The 200 Meters finished with Blake Osborn finishing in sixth place (22.50), followed by Even in 25th (23.72), Nolan Clayberg in 26th (23.73), and Gannon O'Hara in 28th (23.84).
The 400 Meters finished with Sean Knockel finishing in third (50.65), Carson Hellinga in 11th (52.58), Kaden Miller in 14th (53.09), and Brock Meyer in 25th (55.30).
Chase Mullenix won the 800 Meters with a 1:58.96, followed by Austin Langreck in 15th (2:09.37), and Bryce Grissom in 23rd (2:24.15).
Kory Sweeney represented Hawkeye in the 1500 Meters, placing 44th with a 5:01.70.
D'Artagnan Beaver won the 5000 Meters with a 15:17.62, followed by Zach Niederklopfer in eighth (16:46.04).
The 110 Hurdles finals were carried by Clayberg in fourth (15.34) and Noah Sheridan in eighth (15.50). Kenny Cutler scored 14th in the prelims with a 16.79.
The 400 Hurdles were led by Cutler in third with a 56.96, followed closely by Sheridan in fourth with a 57.08.
The RedTails won the 4x100 Relay with Daniel, Osborn, O'hara, and Miller with a time of 42.89. The second RedTails team in this event placed fourth with Shaw, Even, McCully, and Knockel (44.31).
The 4x400 Relay finished with the RedTails scoring third with Cutler, Knockel, Sheridan, and Meyer (3:30.16) and fifth with Osborn, Daniel, Shaw, and Vance (3:30.73).
The Long Jump had O'Hara finishing in ninth with a 5.99m jump.
The Shot Put finished with Benjamin Fransen placing 23rd with a distance of 11.31m, followed by Aterryonn Williams in 33rd (9.15m).
The Discus was led by Tino Tamayo in twelfth with a throw of 35.38m, followed by Brandt Williams in 16th (33.87m), Fransen in 17th (33.85m), Beau Brackenmeyer in 31st (23.79m), and Williams in 32nd (22.16m).
The Javelin finished with Brandt Williams in ninth with a throw of 37.94m.
"I thought it was a positive first meet," said head coach Scott Roberts. "The weather was chilly, but we got some good experience competing outdoors for the first time. Our men's 4x100m won their event. The exchanges still needed work, but they competed well. Chase Mullinex opened up with a fast time in winning the 800m and De'Artagnon Beaver had a nice victory in the 5000m."
