Male Athlete of the Week-Nathan McFarland

RedTail Track and Field student-athlete Nathan McFarland has been named Scheels Male Athlete of the Week for his performance in the Jack Jennett Invite at the University of Northern Iowa on January 19th.

Nathan won the Jack Jennett Invite high jump at UNI leading four Hawkeye male high jumpers to top 4 finishes. He missed the NJCAA National qualifying standard by 1 inch and had two solid attempts at the qualifier. Nathan took 1st place in very first collegiate meet with a jump of 1.93 meters. The Hawkeye male high jumpers finished 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 8th in the competition.

"I was very proud of Nathan McFarland as he won his very first collegiate competition in the high jump," said head coach Scott Roberts. "He had two very solid attempts at the NJCAA National Qualifying mark and I believe he can make that height very soon."

McFarland is originally from Colo, IA.
