Male Athlete of the Week-Travis Brace

RedTail Track and Field student-athlete Travis Brace has been named Scheels Male Athlete of the Week for his performance in the Fighting Bee Invitational at St. Ambrose University on January 26th and 27th.
Travis broke the school record in the indoor men's heptathlon this past week at St. Ambrose University. Travis hit a new lifetime best mark in the Men's Indoor Heptathlon with a new mark of 3,592. He had an exceptional first-day hitting marks of 7.70 in the 60, 5.90 Long Jump(PR), 8.54m Shot Put(PR), and 1.68m. He followed up the second day in good fashion hitting 10.04 in the 60H, 3.0m in Pole Vault and closed out in 3:10.91 in the 1000m run.
"Travis has had an incredible start to his season," said assistant coach Hunter Lavallee! "We've seen a lot of hard work and determination through his pre-season and into the start of the year. He's taken over two two new school records in back-to-back meets claiming the indoor pole vault record at UNI to pair with his outdoor record last season! The rest of indoor along with outdoor should be fun to watch!"
Brace is originally from Cresco, IA.
