RedTail Men’s Track and Field Team get 4th place at the Region XI Championship

COUNCIL BLUFFS–The Men's Track and Field Team received fourth place at the Region XI Championship with a total of 86 points. Head coach Scott Roberts was very impressed with the men, and he said that they really stepped up their performance from last year. 

In the 100-meter prelims, Liam Carlson received 10th place with a time of 11.02 seconds. Alec Schneider came in 22nd place with 11.64 seconds. Close behind was Jaxon Weber in 24th place (12.10 seconds). Benjamin Hansen got 26th place with 12.30 seconds. Jackson Rhomberg also ran, however he did not place. 

In the decathlon 100 meters, Tyler Bartels received fifth place with 11.72 seconds. 

Kasey Wirtjes came in seventh place with 15.79 in the 110-meter hurdles prelims. 

Tyler Bartels competed in the decathlon 110 meter hurdles where he received second place with a time of 16.92 seconds. 

In the 200-meter prelims, Liam Carlson came in 15th place (22.66 seconds). Kaden Miller came in 26th place with a time of 23.74 seconds. Alec Schneider came in 29th place with a time of 23.91 seconds. 

Tyler Bartels received fifth place in the decathlon 400 meters where he got a time of 54.66 seconds. 

In the 400 meters, Evan Kearney came in fifth place (49.89 seconds). Carter Even was not far behind in sixth place with a time of 50.12 seconds. Sean Knockel received seventh place with a time of 50.19 seconds. Kaden Miller got 12th place with a time of 53.93 seconds. 

Kenny Cutler got fourth place in the 400-meter hurdles with 55.14 seconds. 

In the 800-meter dash, Austin Langreck came in 20th place with 2:13.87. 

In the decathlon 1500 meter, Tyler Bartels received fifth place with 5:34.67. 

Brennen Sager received sixth place in the 3000-meter steeple (10:33.14). 

For the relays, the men's 4x100 received third place with a time of 42.38 seconds. The runners were Liam Carlson, Evan Kearney, Carter Even, and Sean Knockel

In the men's 4x400, Carter Even, Sean Knockel, Evan Kearney, and Kenny Cutler came in fifth place with a time of 3:34.28. 

The men's 4x800 got fourth place with a time of 8:29.07. The runners were Jess Cornick, Brennen Sager, Austin Langreck, and Anthoneih Kopsa

"Our throwers really stepped up," said coach Roberts. In the discus throw Brandt Williams came in fifth place throwing 43.07 meters. Adam Smith was in seventh place with 42.26 meters. Tino Tamayo came in ninth place with 36.90 meters. And Beau Brackemeyer received 10th place with 35.92 meters. 

In the decathlon discus throw, Tyler Bartels came in sixth place with 21.43 meters. 

Tino Tamayo came in third place with 49.31 meters in the hammer throw. Brandt Williams got sixth place with 44.43 meters. Beau Brackenmeyer threw 40.28 meters, which gave him seventh place. Adam Smith got 11th place (33.67 meters). 

In the high jump, Nathan McFarland came in third place with 1.96 meters. And Mathew Benedict came in fifth place with 1.82 meters. Tyler Bartels came in fifth place for the decathlon high jump with 1.53 meters. 

Brandt Williams got third place (48.91 meters) in the javelin throw. Tyler Bartels received fifth place (41.13 meters). Adam Smith came in eighth place throwing 39.47. Tino Tamayo got 10th place with 38.40 meters. And Beau Brackenmeyer got 14th place throwing 29.11 meters. In the decathlon javelin throw, Tyler Bartels came in first place with 41.64 meters. 

Tyler Bartels received third place in the decathlon long jump with 5.95 meters. And in the men's decathlon pole vault, he got fourth place (2.70 meters). 

In the men's shot put Tino Tamayo got fourth place with 14.24 meters. Brandt Williams got sixth place throwing 12.87 meters. Adam Smith was not far behind in seventh place (11.69 meters). And Tyler Bartels got 11th place with 9.31 meters. 

In the decathlon shot put Tyler Bartels got fourth place with 9.88 meters.
