RedTails Compete at NIACC's Trent Smith Invitational

The Hawkeye RedTails men's and women's cross country teams traveled to Mason City, IA, on Friday, September 13th, to compete in NIACC's Trent Smith Invitational. Both teams faced a challenging course and strong competition, but they showed determination throughout the race.

In their first 8k race, the men's team was led by Brennen Sager, who finished with a time of 29:56.75, placing 39th overall in the collegiate male division. He maintained a solid pace of 6:01 minutes per mile throughout the race.

Following Sager, Samuel Brace crossed the finish line with a time of 35:07.57, securing 47th place with a pace of 7:03 minutes per mile. Travis Brace, rounded out the RedTails men's results, clocking in at 41:18.96 to finish 50th, with a pace of 8:18 minutes per mile.

On the women's side, Roselle Wardell delivered an impressive performance, finishing 18th in the collegiate female division with a time of 22:14.23. She ran a strong race, maintaining a pace of 7:09 minutes per mile.

Following the meet, coach Brice Enright commented, "It was a tough day of racing, but I'm proud of how our athletes pushed through. Brennen led the men's team with a consistent performance, and Roselle continues to show great potential on the women's side. Their efforts, along with the rest of the team, will pay off as we continue to build toward the rest of the season."

The RedTails will be back in action on October 5th at the Seminole Valley Stampede in Cedar Rapids.
