RedTails Win Against Southeastern Blackhawks

RedTail sports shooting traveled to Burlington on Saturday, September 9, where they defeated the Blackhawks.
The RedTails posted a score of 568, beating the Blackhawks by two targets. Elliot Brincks shot the best with 97 targets and Blaedyn Benscoter shot 95. Colton Crooks, Zach Erpelding, Gavin Sims, and Sam Singewald all shot a total of 94. Brincks took first place and Blaedyn Benscoter took third place individually overall. Lydia Covert was the only female that individually placed, she placed third, shooting a total of 93. The following RedTails earned 25 straight patches: Blaedyn Benscoter, Elliott Brinks, Ryan Carolus, Lydia Covert, Zachary Erpelding, Haydan Pestorious, Gavin Sims, and Sam Singewald.
Head coach Troy Emley had some positive words after the competition.
"Our team depth won the day for us today, this is the closest win we have ever had as a team," he said. "This was our first face-to-face competition of the year and it was on the road, many of the RedTails were frustrated with their performances today, yet others achieved or exceeded their average.We did well today and we look forward to our next opportunity to compete, Go RedTails!"
The RedTails next competition will be Saturday, September 23, in Mahaska for the Skeet and Sporting triangular against Southeastern and Indian Hills.
