Female Athlete of the Week-Lizzy Hamand

RedTail Softball student-athlete Lizzy Hamand has been named Scheels Female Athlete of the Week for her performances down in Flordia on March 13th-16th.

Lizzy had a great week at the plate for the RedTails Softball spring break trip down in Florida. She led the RedTails in games against Illinois Central, South Suburban College, Waubonsee Community College, Spoon Rover College, Lake Michigan College, University of Northwestern St. Pail, Parkland College, and College of Saint Mary. Overall Lizzy was 9-20 at the plate, .450 batting average, .521 on-base percentage, 3 doubles, 1 home run, 3 walks, 7 RBIs, and 4 runs scored. She was 2-3 with 3 RBIs and a walk in our 7-5 Waubonsee win and was 2-3 with 3 RBIs and 1 run scored in our 10-5 win against College of Saint Mary.

"Lizzy was a tough out this week for our opponents," said head coach Courtney Calkins. "She saw the ball well and did her job at the plate, she's been a big spark for our offense!"

Hamand is originally from Nora Springs, IA.
