Your Lady RedTails hosted #10 ranked Kirkwood Community College at home. The RedTails dropped both, losing game one 15-2 and game two 19-2.
Game One: 15 (KCC), 2 (HCC)
Kirkwood started out on top, scoring six runs in the top of the first. They added seven more runs in the top of the third.
The RedTails scored one run in the bottom of the third. Courtney Hemsley doubled and Lucy Lebo walked. Hemsley advanced to third on a passed ball and scored when Adelyn Sienknecht put the ball in play.
Kirkwood added two more runs in the top of the fourth.
In the bottom of the fifth, Lizzy Hamand was hit by a pitch. Jordan Eads then forced an eagle error to score the last RedTail run.
At the plate, Hemsley led the way going 1-2 with one run scored. Mya Chamberlin took the loss, going 2.1 innings, giving up twelve hits, twelve runs, eleven earned. Sienknecht also threw, going 2.2 innings, giving up just four hits, three runs, two earned, two walks, and three strikeouts
Game Two: 19 (KCC), 2 (JHCC)
Kirkwood started out on top again in game two, scoring four runs in the first.
The RedTails fought back early, scoring one run in the bottom of the first. Lucy Lebo was hit by a pitch and stole second. Dharma Woodruff and Ceyaira Barron both walked, and Delaney Eickert hit a single to score Lebo.
The Eagles put up two more runs in the top of the second, making the score 6-1.
A big fourth inning for Kirkwood gave them a 16-1 lead.
In the bottom of the fourth, Rylie Devlin started with a walk and moved to third on a Hemsley double. Jordan Eads then walked, and Devlin scored on a passed ball.
The Eagles added three more runs in the fifth.
At the plate, Eickert led by going 2-2 with one run batted in. On the mound, Eads took the loss, going 2 innings, giving up five hits, six runs, one earned, three walks, and one strikeout.
The RedTails move 9-20 and 0-2 in conference play. They face Iowa lakes on Saturday, March 29th at home. First pitch set for 12:00 PM.
