RedTails Lose to Lakers

Your Lady RedTails hosted Iowa Lakes Community College in a conference match up. The RedTails lost both, losing game one 2-0 and losing game two 8-1

 

Game One: 2 (ILCC), 0 (HCC)

Iowa Lakes struck early in the game. They scored two runs off a single, walk, single, and RedTail error.

The RedTails were blanked on the bases despite having six base runners during the game.

The RedTails shut down the Laker offense the rest of the game, making the game end with a 2-0 score.

At the plate, Mya Chamberlin, Jordan Eads, and Courtney Hemsley each had hits in the game. On the mound, Chamberlin pitched all seven innings, giving up six hits, two runs, one earned, three walks, and ten strikeouts.

 

Game Two: 8 (ILCC), 1 (HCC)

The Lakers scored one run in the top of the second. They added two more runs in the top of the third to go up 3-0.

The RedTails scored their lone run on the day in the third inning. Hemsley hit a single and moved to second on a Laker error. Lucy Lebo then sacrifice bunted to move Hemsley. Jordan Eads walked and stole second, drawing the throw to score Hemsley.

In the fifth inning, the Lakers added two more runs to go up 5-1. They tacked on two runs in the sixth and one run in the second to complete the 8-1 win in favor the Lakers.

At the plate, Hemsley led, going 1-3 with one run scored. On the mound, Eads took the loss, going four innings, giving up seven hits, five runs, three earned, one walk, and two strikeouts. Adelyn Sienknecht pitched three innings, giving up just three hits, three runs, zero earned, one walk, and one strikeout.

 

The RedTails move to 9-22 on the season and 0-4 in conference play. They are back at home on Wednesday, April 2nd against Ellsworth Community College. First pitch is set for 2:00 PM.
